Lois specializes in the development of retailer and supplier market positioning
and channel strategies. She has more than 15 years of specific expertise in the
design, analysis, and application of market research to the strategic planning
process. Lois also has considerable expertise in consumer demographics,
attitudes, and behaviors related to the retail shopping process.
Lois' consulting experience includes projects for leading companies such as
Bloomingdale's, Talbots, Victoria's Secret, Wilsons Leather, OshKosh B'Gosh,
Genesco, Sterling, Limited, Contempo Casuals, U Co-op (Japan), Retailtech, Home
Furnishings News, Dupont, Procter & Gamble, Rubbermaid, Philips Electronics,
and Wm. Wrigley Co. In addition, she managed the development of the Retail Industry
components of PricewaterhouseCoopers' proprietary best practices database.
Lois is frequently quoted in the retail and business trade press (e.g.,
WWD, DNR, Stores, Shopping Center World) and is a frequent speaker at
Retail Intelligence Program and industry conferences (e.g., NRF's Big
Show, RMI Retail Marketing Forum).
Lois joined the Management Horizons Division of Price Waterhouse in 1987
and most recently was a Principal Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Lois earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ashland University in Economics
and International Studies, and attended post-graduate study in Economics
at The Ohio State University and study programs at the United Nations
and the European Economic Community. Prior to joining the Management Horizons
Division of Price Waterhouse, Lois was a consultant at Shaffer & Shaffer
Applied Research & Development, where she provided market research
and consulting services to retailers, financial institutions, and other
clients.
